Signs Your Home’s Air Needs Help
Most indoor air problems in this part of the country trace back to humidity, dust, and ductwork. If you recognize yours, we can usually pinpoint the cause on one visit.
Dust settles hours after you clean
Usually leaky return ducts pulling attic or crawlspace air into the system, plus a filter that can’t catch fine dust.
Allergies are worse at home
Pollen, pet dander, and mold spores recirculating through the ducts all day. Better filtration and clean ducts make a real difference.
Musty or “old house” smell
Moisture in the ductwork, a dirty evaporator coil, or microbial growth in the air handler.
Sticky, humid rooms in summer
An oversized AC that short-cycles, or a system that needs a dedicated dehumidifier to keep up with River Valley humidity.
Dry air, static shocks, cracked wood in winter
Gas heat dries the house out. A whole-home humidifier fixes it without countertop units in every room.
Mold around vents or windows
A humidity problem first, an air quality problem second. We fix the cause, not just the symptom.
Rooms that never feel fresh
Tight newer homes trap stale air. Balanced fresh-air ventilation brings outside air in without wrecking your efficiency.
Black streaks or dust around supply vents
Dirty ducts, a bypassed filter, or insulation breaking down inside old flex duct.
We start with the ductwork
A purifier bolted onto leaky, dirty ducts doesn’t solve much. A lot of the duct we pull out of River Valley attics is collapsed, chewed, or full of debris — replacing it fixes dust, smells, and comfort in one shot.
What to Expect
How an Air Quality Visit Works
No sales pitch. We look at the system, find what’s actually causing the problem, and recommend only what will help.
Tell us what you’re noticing
Dust, allergies, smells, humidity — the symptoms point us at the cause before we ever open a panel.
We inspect the system and ducts
Filter setup, coil and blower condition, duct leaks and condition, humidity levels, and how the house is ventilated.
You get straight options
We explain what we found and give you the price on each option before any work. Sometimes the answer is a better filter rack, not an expensive add-on.
We install it and set it up right
Equipment goes in, settings get dialed in for your home, and we show you what maintenance it needs.

Questions
Indoor Air Quality FAQs
Do whole-home air purifiers actually work?
Yes — when they’re sized and installed in the system properly. A media cabinet or whole-home purifier treats every cubic foot of air that moves through the ducts, which is far more than a portable unit in one room.
Is a UV light safe?
Yes. The light is mounted inside the air handler at the coil, so it only treats the coil surface and passing air — never people or pets.
Why is my house so dusty?
Nine times out of ten it’s leaky return ducts pulling in attic or crawlspace air, combined with a basic filter. Sealing or replacing the ducts and upgrading the filter rack usually fixes it.
Can you help with humidity in the summer?
Yes. We size whole-home dehumidifiers for River Valley humidity, and we check whether the AC itself is oversized and short-cycling — a common reason a house feels sticky even when it’s cool.
Do you clean ductwork?
We inspect and clean accessible ductwork, and we’re honest when duct is too far gone to clean — collapsed, chewed, or deteriorating flex duct gets replaced, which is usually the better fix.
Will you try to sell me something I don’t need?
No. We recommend what will fix the problem you called about and tell you the price up front. If the answer is a better filter and a duct repair, that’s what we’ll tell you.
